A New Direction
Hey everyone, I am new to this site, although I have a few of the podcasts on my iPod and really enjoy them, so I thought I would give this site a whirl. Kind of like women who are product junkies, I am a site junky, I haven't quite found a site that really suits me, but fitPod looks promising.

Sore Feet
I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I was out of my walking routine for about 6-8 weeks due to surgery over the summer. I wore mainly flip flops or bare feet. Now I am trying to slowly get back into a walking/running routine and every pair of shoes I have hurt the balls of my feet. I bought a new pair of Asics, very light shoe with no avail. Today my left foot fell asleep while I was on the bike. I bought some gel inserts for the ball of my feet but it still is not helping. Does anyone have suggestions for me. I need to get back in shape.

We have changed our lifestyles by living a less healthy life. Now, with the development of our societies, we have to defeat obesity and other problems like heart diseases, diabetes, cancer etc...but we could resolve some of these diseases by eating the Mediterranean diet style
Today we have 4 main problem:
1) Less time for physical activity
2) Stress
3) No more homemade foods
4) No social interactions
treading along
I have never considered myself an athletic person. This summer I had something to hit me, which has never been my problem. I was getting fat. I did not like my body and I did not like how I looked in my clothes. I started working out every now and then but by the time school started I began working out on the treadmill 3-5 times a week in the last couple of weeks I have been on the treadmill every morning before I go to work and plus 45 minutes on Saturdayy and Sunday. I think the music is an important factor it keeps me pumped up. I am liking my body more and more.
Overtraining
A lot of people rent the movie Pumping Iron, which features Arnold Schwarzenegger and friends training at tremendous intensities for hours at a time daily. After seeing this movie many people think they must follow suit to be successful. This is not the case. Training at too high of an intensity with inadequate rest, and poor nutrition will result in a physical condition known as Overtraining.
XC Runner
I am a very active XC runner and have loved music since I was young.
Maybe new runner
Found a buddy to start training for 10K, completed 5K about 3 yrs ago, pre-baby!! Now trying to loose the excess weight and running seems to be the one form of exercise I can't seem to make up a good excuse for not doing...so we'll see!!
The Beginning
Slightly out of shape. I want to tone and gain more endurance while running. But, how do I begin? It is scary. I know I must start out slow but I do not know how. Can anybody help me? Is there a fitlist or mix for beginners?
