Monster's iFreePlay cordless headphones for 2G Shuffle

| | |

from engadget.com

Monster Cable has been known to dabble in the world of iPod accessories before, and while it's easy to give the company notorious for over marketing its flashy cabling knocks on just about anything, the iFreePlay contraption doesn't look half bad.

Get in Gear: Must Have Gadget for Hiking

| | |

from fitsugar.com

Seriously, sometimes I think I am MacGyver. Especially when I am out in the woods on a hike but the truth is that while I love the occasional hike in the woods (or along the coastline) I am no outdoorsy guru. More

Is your booty singing my favorite song?

| | | | | | | |

from thatsfit.com

Clumsy girls like me rejoice!

Finally a solution to keep my mp3 player from constantly crashing to the floor. I've put the darn thing in my shorts pocket, on the little ledge of whatever machine I'm using, and I've even tucked it into my bra. Without fail, my teeny little music machine is guaranteed to make its way to the floor with the batteries and door scattered around the gym.

For those who plan to keep running and hiking outdoors this winter, no matter what the wind chill is or how much snow is falling, shopping for new seasonal gear is always a treat.

But ask any athlete and they’ll tell you--it's also a necessity.

iPod Owners May Switch Rather Than Fight

| | |

from wired.com

Behold the power of brown! Turns out that even iPod owners may not be able to resist the magnetic pull of Microsoft’s chocolatey new media player, according to a new survey. The poll of American adults and teens, conducted by ABI Research, found that 58 percent of iPod owners were either “somewhat likely” or “extremely likely” to choose Microsoft’s Zune as their next MP3 player, compared with 59 percent for those who own another brand of audio gadget.

Night Walking Fun Gear

| | |

from walking.about.com

It's now dark by the end of my commute home, and I need reflective gear and a light if I want to go for a late afternoon walk. There are a couple of items I keep handy in my car and at home for night walking safety. The first is a pair of Glo Glovs, which I call my "Mighty Hands of Power." Not only are they handy to keep your hands a bit warmer, but you could use these to park aircraft. I love showing my palm triangle to cars at intersections as I cross with the walk light. They fit over other gloves or mittens or you can wear them by themselves - one size fits all. Read more

Coolest Workout Equipment

| | |

from forbes.com

Looking to make your workouts more interesting? Maybe what you need is exercise equipment that makes it more fun, if not more rewarding.

A tour through any state-of-the-art fitness club reveals an arsenal of space-age machines that look like a cross between torture devices and props from the set of a Star Wars movie. Take the $14,615 ROM Time Machine, from North Hollywood, Calif.-based Romfab, a cross-trainer that claims to give a total body workout in four minutes.

Review: iFrogz Custom iPod Cases

| |

from applematters.com

I am more often than not disappointed by the promises made by various companies to ‘do things my way’. One restaurant for example has repeatedly “not” lived up to a similar marketing promise of theirs and has never put black truffles in my hamburgers.

Vibrating Power Plate may buff up body with muscle workout

In the pantheon of wacky fitness contraptions, the Power Plate deserves a place of honor. The pulsating, vibrating exercise machine promises to jiggle even the semi-indolent into shape without so much as a lunge or squat.

In the four years since its introduction in the United States, the device has struck a responsive chord among slackers and elite athletes alike. Madonna reportedly used it to whip her 48-year-old body into its current Mighty Mouse condition.

Vibram's FiveFingers

| | |

By Scott Dogget
Los Angeles Times

LAST week's thundershowers gave me all the reason I needed to slip on a pair of Vibram FiveFingers, the strange-looking new slip-on shoe with individual toe compartments that's intended to combine a barefoot feel with the protection of a hiking boot.

The shoes seem best suited for light-duty use, but Vibram is marketing them for canoeing, kayaking, canyoneering and sport fishing.

Canyoneering, as in hiking rocky trails and crisscrossing rivers? I'd have expected nothing less from Vibram, which makes 32 million soles annually for more than 1,000 footwear brands.
